Has there been to anybodies knowledge something planned in a future update that will allow a character name change?

if search were up i would say add this to one of the other useless or deleted threads on this,

in a word NO

they will not give scammers a chance to change names and vanish. (chatlogs of reps)

while i cannot speak for anet, i can say almost 100% certainly not, theres a whole host of reasons that make this an Awful idea

You forgot about the even cooler name of "XXx Legolas the Ranger xXX"

Although I sorta wish there was a way to hide from certain folks that you are on. Got a few I helped out early that seem to need to chat with me non stop every time I am on now. Can't get a thing done may have to ignore list them. (which is a shame, they are nice guys just too persistant)

I think it's a good question, not useless. There's no way to change a character's name and I guess there are good reasons for that. Only way is to delete a character and start over. Be sure to dump its gold and valuables into storage before doing that.

Don't forget to salvage the armour/runes you're wearing and put the weapon and offhand in storage too. I remember changing my characters name a long time ago and realized I didn't salvage the armour.

Ah I had bad experience w/ the deleting characters... wtf was I thinking on my first chara I lost 24k that way ._.; *slap self*
